NATIVE TREE PLANTING

Phase 2

TOGETHER LETS PLANT MORE TREES

Planting trees is one of the most sustainable ways to positively affect the environment.

WHAT DOES THE SECOND PHASE OF OUR NATIVE TREE PLANTING ENTAIL?

Take MAR's Native Tree Planting Project – a trail restoration initiative with a goal focused on Phase 2. Our objective for this phase is to plant trees spanning from 28th Street South to the intersection of 5th Avenue South and 22nd Street South. This undertaking strives to elevate the trail's inherent charm and ecological importance. By planting over 80 native trees, preserving existing ones, conducting debris cleanup, and fostering community unity, our project aims to make a lasting impact.

JOIN US ON OCTOBER 28TH FOR THE PINELLAS TRAIL REGENERATION PROJECT, WHERE WE'LL BE PLANTING NATIVE TREES.

WHY ARE WE PLANTING TREES TO RESTORE THE TRAIL?

We're planting trees to revive the trail for a bunch of important reasons. Trees are like nature's air purifiers – they soak up carbon dioxide and give us fresh oxygen. Plus, they bring back the local ecosystem, help out wildlife, make the trail prettier, give us shade, and set a relaxing vibe. And you know what's cool? Planting trees brings the community together, making us all care for and enjoy the trail even more. It's all about keeping the trail healthy and awesome for the long run!

PLANTING NATIVE TREASURES

At the heart of our endeavor is the commitment to preserving and promoting the rich biodiversity of the Pinellas region. We are excited to announce the planting of a diverse array of 80+ native trees and plants along the trail.

These carefully selected species, including Gumbo Limbo, Florida Privet, Yaupon Holly, Red Mulberry, South Florida Slash Pine, Live Oak, Mahogany, Cocoplum, and Fire Bush, are integral to our local ecosystem's health and sustainability.
